FAQs

What is the difference between a goalpost with and without tensioners?
- Without tensioners: The net falls diagonally from the top post (crossbar) to the ground. The interior space is reduced.
- With tensioners: The net runs horizontally from the crossbar before descending, creating a ‘box’ shape. This is the standard used in professional stadiums and UEFA/FIFA competitions.
What is the distance and positioning of the tension posts?
To give the goal a professional ‘boxed’ appearance:
- Setback distance: The tension posts should be placed approximately 2,00m behind each main post.
- Alignment: To ensure the net forms a 90° angle at the top, the tension posts must be positioned at least 50cm outside the line of the goalposts.
- Safety: They must be secured by sleeves in the ground (50cm deep) or steel cables to ensure that the tension does not slacken during play.
How are the posts secured?
Sleeve system: These are inserted into tubes buried in the ground with concrete. Offer better stability.
How is the voltage regulated in the grid?
The posts have a pulley system at the top. A nylon cable is passed through the net and the top of the tension post, adjusting the height and tension until the net is perfectly stretched.
