Isoinertial training allows you to work on acceleration/concentric movements (muscle contraction) and deceleration/eccentric movements (muscle extension).
This type of training is considered an effective method for stronger, well-trained athletes looking to improve their strength maximum. The muscles have the capacity to produce between 20% and 50% more force during the eccentric phase than the concentric phase.
