The plinths have
multiple functions and are suitable for all ages.
Each section has a Velcro fastening, allowing for easy stacking to different
heights. They are ideal for teaching the basics of jumping to young learners at
a lower level, or they can be stacked to increase the challenge when needed.
The individual pieces can also be used separately.
Pedagogical implications for learning: Flat vs Curved
- In the early stages and with insecure students, the foam plinth with a curved head tends to be more suitable for building confidence and promoting safe overall body exploration.
- For phases of technical consolidation of jumps and more precise supports, the foam plinth with a flat head favours alignment control, correct hand placement and transfer to the official jumping plinth;
- Alternating between the two enriches the motor repertoire, allowing the teacher to adjust the difficulty, technical focus and perceived risk level according to the group and the objective of the lesson.
